We’re Open Again
After our much needed two vacations (Thanksgiving and Christmas Holidays) the Freight Wheel Cafe we will be back open on Friday, January 3, 2025 resuming our normal schedule Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 8am to 1pm.
Believe it or not, Sunday, January 12, 2025 will be our 2nd anniversary for opening the Freight Wheel Cafe!! WooHoo! We have learned a lot, met a lot of interesting and kind people, many from Hartwick and surrounding towns in Otsego County. We feel we are building our base and are very appreciative of our customers who visit us on a regular basis. We rely on you as friends to us and to the Cafe and hope you will bring your friends in for a meal and a visit.
We are still serving breakfast and lunch daily from 8am to 1pm, offering multiple soups, two types of quiches, our famous lemon ricotta pancakes on Sundays and our especially loved whole wheat pancakes with or without fruit every day. If you haven’t tried our veggie quesadilla it can be your lunch and your dinner or something to share with a friend. Delicious with salsa and sour cream.

Offering breakfast, lunch and fresh baked goods in a warm and friendly downtown space in Hartwick.
Community Workspace
A place for meetings or internet connected work – solo or with a group. This space is located on the 2nd floor above the Freight Wheel Cafe.
Repair Cafe will be offered in the fall of 2023.
Local expertise to repair and repurpose items instead of throwing them in the trash.

Visit with friends and family or catch up with the internet; enjoy breakfast all morning – cooked to order!
Fresh Baked Goods Daily
Blueberry, cornbread, banana bread muffins, scones, sticky buns, coffee cakes, soda bread, etc. alternating weekly.
Whole Grain & Healthy Options
Veggie, whole grain and gluten free options for breads, desserts, cereals, etc. Vegetarian and vegan options are available in chilis, soups, and salads.
Green Alternatives
Shop green alternatives to plastic purchases (soaps, dish washing brushes, bees wax wrappers by Granola Girl, etc.).

Located on the 2nd floor. The entrance for My Neighbor’s Closet is at the rear of the building.
